Isles MP, Angus Brendan MacNeil is encouraging constituents to check their washing machine models following Whirlpool’s recall programme at the end of last year.

In December, Whirlpool alerted customers to a safety risk concerning certain models of Hotpoint and Indesit washing machines and Mr MacNeil has recently been approached by Whirlpool to assist in raising awareness of this recall.

Owners of Hotpoint and Indesit washing machines purchased since 2014 are asked to contact Whirlpool immediately to check if their washing machine is one of the models affected.

Commenting Angus MacNeil MP said:

“Constituents can instantly check if they have an affected washing machine by visiting the dedicated website at https://washingmachinerecall.whirlpool.co.uk/ or by phoning 0800 316 1442.

“Whirlpool are advising owners of any affected models to unplug their washing machines and have stated that they will replace any affected washing machine free of charge.

“We should all do our bit in making people aware of this recall, particularly elderly relatives, friends and neighbours.”
