Since the General Election in 2015, I have assisted more than 2,000 constituents and their families here in the islands with individual cases ranging from visas to passports to crofting; transport to social security and to problems with utility firms.
More than a third of cases from constituents are to do with energy, utilities and the environment over the last two years. Nearly 500 people have come to me for assistance with issues such as broadband, energy firms and mobile coverage.
I have maintained pressure on the UK Government and operators to ensure the delivery of efficient mobile and internet connections and in this, we are starting to see results, although there is still much to be done.
I have lobbied Ministers of the UK Government to support island renewables and continue to fight for our vital fishing industry. I have campaigned strongly for the return of an Emergency Towing Vessel on the west coast.
