Na h-Eileanan an Iar SNP MP, Angus MacNeil is calling on BT to take immediate steps to improve the level of service provided to customers after several constituents were left without services for more than two months.
Mr MacNeil is often called upon by constituents to assist in getting phone lines and broadband installed or repaired and in most instances the response from BT is swift, however, a number of recent cases have now prompted Mr MacNeil to criticise BT.
Commenting Angus MacNeil MP said:
“I take no pleasure in publically criticising BT, however I have been left with no option, following what is a shambolic situation in my constituency, where a BT customer has been left without a phone line and broadband for almost 8 weeks.
“There are many people who earn a living from working at home and depend on broadband to work. People are angry and disillusioned with BT and I certainly do not blame them. It beggars belief that a customer can be left 8 weeks without a service and despite the fault having been escalated to the highest level within BT, no progress is being made.
“Sadly, this is not an isolated incident where customers are being let down by appointments not being met.”
