Isles MP writes to bus operator
Isles MP Angus MacNeil is contacting Citylink following reports from bus passengers about the difficulties they have pre-booking the bus service between Ullapool and Inverness.
Mr MacNeil has recently been contacted by constituents who had to change their travel plans because they were unable to pre-book on the Ullapool to Inverness service, a vital link for ferry passengers.
Mr MacNeil said:
“Historically there were difficulties in securing a seat on the Ullapool to Inverness service and bus operators advised that passengers should pre-book. However, we are now in the situation that the travelling public who try to pre-book are being told that the bus is full and no additional transport will be made available.
“As we approach the busy Christmas period when many people will be travelling, particularly our students, I am writing to Citylink to ensure that they have adequate services to meet demand. I will also keep the Island and Transport Minister, Derek Mackay involved on how this unsatisfactory service is operated by Citylink.”
