Commenting on the PrivateFly 2014 Airport Approaches Poll, which placed Barra in the top three airport approaches, Isles SNP MP, Angus MacNeil said:

“Barra Airport is unique and it comes as no surprise to me that it has been named in the top three airport approaches.  I regularly use Barra Airport and I will certainly never tire of the beautiful scenery.

“I know that people who visit Barra and who mostly come by ferry, watching the plane landing on the beach is a great attraction to their stay.

“With Lewis and Harris being named as Europe’s top island, Uist with the endless beaches and beautiful machair areas, this is another fantastic boost for our tourism industry and I warmly welcome this news.”
