Dennis Canavan the popular chairman of YES Scotland will be holding public meetings in Stornoway on Thursday 7th March and in Benbecula on Friday 8th March 2013.  Dennis Canavan, a former Labour MP will be explaining why he wants a fairer and independent Scotland.
The first meeting will be held in the Oak Suite, Cabarfeidh Hotel, Stornoway on Thursday 7th March at 7.30pm.  On Friday 8th March, Dennis will be speaking in Benbecula and this meeting will take place in the Lecture Theatre, Sgoil Lionacleit at 7pm.
Na h-Eileanan an Iar SNP MP, Angus Brendan MacNeil said:
“We don’t often get the chance of someone like Dennis Canavan coming to the islands and I hope that those interested in Scotland’s future, whether in or out of the Union, will come along.
“Dennis is a former Labour MP and demonstrates that independence is not for any one party.
“Dennis, will be electrifying and I would encourage people, regardless of party or even viewpoint on independence to come along and I extend a warm invitation to everyone to come and listen to Dennis Canavan.”
