Na h-Eileanan an Iar SNP MP, Angus Brendan MacNeil has written to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) to ask for an update on the issue of unsolicited marketing calls.  Mr MacNeil previously contacted the ICO on behalf of constituents, asking for action to be taken to prevent people from being inundated by these unsolicited calls.

Angus MacNeil said:

“In August the Information Commissioner’s Office confirmed with me that it is investigating this matter and that they will take appropriate action against organisations that breach the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (2003) (PECR).

“I am hearing from many people throughout the islands who are still receiving these unwanted nuisance calls this is why I have written to the ICO to ask for an update on the investigations.
