In a break to the usual scaremongering at today’s Scottish Questions at Westminster, Na h-Eileanan an Iar SNP MP, Angus Brendan MacNeil raised the issue of Broadband with David Mundell MP the Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Scotland.

Speaking after Scottish Questions at Westminster, Angus MacNeil MP said:

“I asked if the UK Government would agree to set up the broadband percentages at Local Authority level instead of doing so at UK level, this would mean that whole areas of the country are not left as broadband not-spots.

“It was disappointing that the Scottish Office were not on top of their brief on this issue and responded with silly bluster.

“Hopefully in time, they will reflect and work with people to achieve greater broadband penetration across the county.”
