MACNEIL MP – VODAFONE CONFIRM STORNOWAY SIGNAL NOW RESTORED
Na h-Eileanan an Iar SNP MP, Angus Brendan MacNeil has today received confirmation from Vodafone that the signal in Stornoway has now been restored. On Friday 4th November, Mr MacNeil contacted Vodafone on behalf of constituents, requesting that they repair the fault.
Commenting Angus MacNeil said:
“I have received confirmation that the mobile signal has now been restored in the Stornoway area. Vodafone have confirmed that the problem was a high-order Cable and Wireless transmission fault, which affected the connectivity of the site.
“I understand from Vodafone that engineers worked over the weekend to repair the fault and have now implemented a more robust fix to the issues. This should mean that customers in the area will have a much more stable service. As this fault has been occurring over many weeks now, I am pleased that Vodafone have also confirmed that engineers will be keeping an eye on it for the meantime.
“I also raised the issue of compensation to contract customers, Vodafone have suggested that contract customers should call the customer services team on 191 to discuss this on an individual basis.”
“I hope that this brings an end to the weeks of unreliable service for Vodafone customers in Stornoway.”
